A Sinew Golem appears as a flesh golem without its skin. Its tissues are moist and its muscles large. In fact, it is made from pure muscle and is immensely strong. Necromancers often create Sinew Golems for use as bodyguards.
A Sinew Golem attacks with its sharp nails, slashing opponents to expose their muscle tissues. Its most devious attack is its ability to rip out the tendons of its opponents.
Acid Vulnerability (Ex): A Sinew Golem takes double damage from acid, quadruple from acid-based spells.
Magic Immunity: Sinew Golems are immune to all magic, except as noted hereafter. Fire and cold-based effects slow them (as a slow spell) for 2d6 rounds with no saving throw. Electricity cures 1 point of damage for each point of damage it would have dealt. Acid-based spells do quadruple damage.
Ripper (Ex): If a Sinew Golem successfully slashes the flesh of its opponent with a nail, it may grab tendons from its opponent’s muscles tissue and rip them out. This causes an additional 2d8 points of damage. The golem then attempts to garrote its opponent with its own sinew. This requires a successful melee touch attack to begin a grapple (PHB Grapple). If successful, the golem begins strangulation. Each consecutive round an opponent is grappled by the golem, the creature loses 5 temporary points of Constitution. If the creature reaches zero it has been successfully strangled and is dead.
A Sinew Golem uses muscle tissue that comes from corpses that have yet to decay significantly. Ten or more giant bodies must be used for harvesting mass.
The golem costs 65,000 to create, which includes 500 gp for construction of the body. Assembling the body requires a successful Craft (leatherworking) or Heal skill check (DC 15).
The creator must be at least 15th level and able to cast arcane spells. Completing the ritual drains 1,100 XP from the creator and requires bull’s strength, geas/quest, limited wish, polymorph any object, and protection from arrows.
